John Wright, the renowned forager from River Cottage, is returning to guide us around the hedgerows, fields and seashores of Sark.

Last year John discovered three different varieties of samphire together with many other species some of which he hasn’t seen in the British Isles for many years. Please visit our  gallery to view photos from John’s previous stay.

The weekend will start with John’s welcome talk in the Smugglers Bar at Stocks on Saturday evening, and a dinner afterwards in the main restaurant.

Following breakfast on Sunday morning the guided hedgerow forage will start at 9:30am followed by the seashore forage in the afternoon. A packed lunch will be provided for you.

After an eventful day in the field, there will be a cooking demonstration by the Stocks Hotel Chef assisted by John who will explain how to prepare the food that you have gathered.

The dinner menu will be based around the varieties you have foraged, supplemented by some other seasonal, local delicacies.

Everyone loved this weekend last year and we are sure that it will be equally as fascinating this year!

The weekend package includes:

  • Personally guided foraging forays.
  • 2 nights accommodation in a superior double or twin bedded room at Stocks.
  • Hearty Sark farmhouse breakfast each morning, plus 3-course dinner each evening, plus a packed lunch on Sunday.
  • Time to explore Sark on foot or bicycle, or just relax and unwind in the comfort and luxury of Stocks Hotel.

Total cost: £395 for single occupancy or £250 per person when sharing a double or twin bedded room (£150 for a non-foraging participant sharing a room). 

Combine the Yoga Retreat package with the Foragers Weekend package:

Book for Yoga and pay £100 for the foraging exploration & dinner on Sunday.

Book for Foragers and pay £20.00 per yoga session.

 

ADDITIONAL REWARD: Extend your stay for just £150 per room per night on dinner, bed & breakfast basis. Stay for 4 nights or more and we’ll also reimburse the cost of the ferry to Sark.
